Kirchenchor Kuchl
Der Kirchenchor Kuchl blickt auf eine lange Tradition zurück: schon im 16. Jhdt. können Organisten, Sänger und Musiker nachgewiesen werden, die an festlichen Gottesdiensten mitwirkten. Großer Wert wurde seit jeher auf die Aufführung von Festmessen an den höchsten kirchlichen Feiertagen gelegt, eine Tradition, die bis heute fortgeführt wird.
Von 1992 – 2023 leitete Mag. Markus Stepanek den Kirchenchor, seit Nov. 2023 ist Johannes Hiroyuki Ohara der Chorleiter, derzeit singen 36 Chormitglieder aktiv im Kirchenchor.
Ein großes Repertoire an lateinischen Messen und geistlichen Chorwerken vom Barock bis zur Moderne bildet den Schwerpunkt der Tätigkeit des Chores, welcher die Gottesdienste und Begräbnisse festlich gestaltet.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Musikum, der örtlichen Musikkapelle und anderen Chören konnten einige große Werke zur Aufführung gebracht werden, wie z.B. Die Schöpfung von J. Haydn, das Gloria in D-Dur von A. Vivaldi, Requiem in d-Moll, KV 626 von W. A. Mozart, der Lobgesang (Finale der Symphonie Nr. 2) von F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy, das Weihnachtsoratorium von C. Saint-Saëns und das Requiem in d-Moll op. 48 von G. Fauré.

Kuchl Church Choir
The Kuchl Church Choir looks back on a long and distinguished tradition: as early as the 16th century, organists, singers, and instrumentalists are documented as having participated in solemn liturgical celebrations. From the outset, particular emphasis has been placed on the performance of festive Mass settings on the highest feast days of the Church—a tradition that continues to this day.
From 1992 to 2023, the choir was directed by Mag. Markus Stepanek. Since November 2023, Johannes Hiroyuki Ohara has served as choirmaster. At present, the choir comprises 36 active members.
The choir’s core activity centers on a substantial repertoire of Latin Masses and sacred choral works spanning from the Baroque period to the present day, through which it provides solemn musical accompaniment to liturgical services and funerals.
In collaboration with the Musikum, the local wind band, and other choirs, the ensemble has presented a number of major works, including The Creation by Joseph Haydn, the Gloria in D major by Antonio Vivaldi, the Requiem in D minor, K. 626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Lobgesang (finale of Symphony No. 2) by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, the Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saëns, and the Requiem, Op. 48 by Gabriel Fauré.
